CHATTY $$$DOLL-ARS$$$

This is a fun page showing dolls that have been purchased for a dollar, that is right...one measley buck! Most of these dolls were well loved and are now loved by me :)

This Chatty Baby is my only one with glasseine eyes, so I forgive her for having glue all over her head. I have tried everything to remove it so have put a hat on her :) Perhaps the buck was too much for this one!?! No, don't think so!

I found this doll at the Salvation army last year at Christmas time. I was rummaging throught the AS-Is toy bin and saw a doll leg sticking out. I yanked on it and out come this Chatty Cathy doll. I stood there like an idiot for a couple of minutes trying to compose myself. After I picked my jaw up off the floor I went to pay for her. As nothing is pre-priced in the As-Is department, I asked the cashier, how much? She said, hmmm, she is a dollar. Well, let me tell you that I practically threw my buck at her and took off before she changed her mind. After I got outside I took her out of the bag and noticed she had original nursery school undies, dress and the red peppermint slip. I figured she must have had shoes so went back in the store. I fished around in the toy bin and found Chatty Baby slippers. I have left her exactly as I found her right down to the hair ribbon and wouldn't trade her for anything! Yippee...she talks! :)

This piggy doll on the right was part of a large doll collection that Debbie and I purchased. Each doll worked out to about 75 cents so she has earned the title...Her Royal Cheapness...wait a minute, or is that me?!?!? =^..^=

The 2 gals in the top picture were found at a school sale/fun fair. The cute Chatty Baby in the red was found by my hubby at a thrift store. The Chatty Magnet strikes again!
Who can beat 3 dolls for $3.00?

The Chatty Magnet struck twice here! The brunette bob was from a thrift store and the blonde was a garage sale find.
Dave splurged on these 2 (10 bucks each) I found the blue gingham dress at an antique show and the solid blue one at a thrift store. Hope you can email with stories of your own bargain dollies! It is nice to find cheap, cheap dollies. Helps to balance out the more expensive ones!

The gal on the left was another $10 garage sale find, thanks to the Chatty magnet! The girlie in purple was covered in purple pen when I got her. After 1 month of patiently applying and reapplying Oxy 10 the pen is gone and she is as good as new...well almost! She was my $10 thrift store find!
